On a Mac with an Intel processor
An Intel Mac runs Intel apps natively, so nothing needs you, and Vernacular says so.
On a Mac with an Intel processor, the answer at the top is: “This Mac has an Intel processor, so it runs Intel apps natively. This check is about Macs with Apple silicon.”
Apps, parts and add-ons made only for Intel processors run natively there, so each one says RUNS NATIVELY and: “It’s made for Intel processors, and this Mac has one, so it runs natively here. Apple’s change to Rosetta is for Macs with Apple silicon.” Nothing goes in the checklist for that reason, and nothing is counted as needing you.
Vernacular still reads everything, so on an Intel Mac it still shows:
- apps made for 32-bit Macs, which already can’t open
- copies of the same app, and builds from your own projects
- when a copy was built more than five years ago
If you’re moving to a Mac with Apple silicon, read that Mac once you’ve moved your apps across. That’s where the verdicts apply.
