Seeing it through

The checklist

Settle each thing that needs you your way, and Vernacular keeps track across reads until nothing is left to do.

Checklist in the sidebar has a card for everything that needs you, and for every app that already can’t open. It comes with the unlock. Until then it carries a lock and says how many there are to settle. What does it cost?

At the top: Before macOS 28: 5 left to do, and how many of them are settled. The sidebar shows the same number.

Each card

Its name, its verdict, its lane, its sentence and the first thing to do. Then mark how you settled it:

  • Updated
  • Replaced
  • Keeping on 27
  • Don’t need

Or leave it at Not yet. A settled card says SETTLED.

It ticks itself off

“Settle each one your way. Read again after an update and it ticks itself off.” When an app or driver you updated runs natively, it leaves the checklist by itself on the next read. How you settled the rest is kept across reads, and when you quit and open Vernacular again.

When everything is settled: Before macOS 28: nothing left to do.

Don’t need

Mark an app Don’t need, and if it’s in the Applications folder, its card offers Move to the Trash. Move an app to the Trash
