Downloads and Desktop, explained
Every file with where it came from, the app that saved it, and what happens if you remove it.
Downloads and Desktop in the sidebar list every item, each explained. The columns are:
- Name, with what kind of file it is.
- From: the site it came from, when macOS recorded one.
- Saved by: the app that saved it (Chrome, Slack, AirDrop…) and the day.
- If you remove it: what Rolltop says about removing it. You have another copy, or your only copy
Filter the list with All, Another copy, Only copy, 90+ days and Private keys.
Select a file to see its details on the right: what it is (a PDF's own title too), Where it came from as a line from the site to the app that saved it to where it is now, and the verdict with its reason. Show in Finder shows the file.
At the bottom, Move to Trash moves that one file to the Trash now (Undo Last Run puts it back). With the unlock, Keep and Move to Trash add it to the next run instead. Nothing is erased
