Using Procession

Close an app with Show and close

Procession brings the app forward; you close it with ⌘Q, and it tells you what came back.

Procession never closes anything by itself. Show and close helps you do it.

Steps

  1. Press Show (or **Show app to close it in the inspector). The app comes forward, and a small panel at the bottom right says Press ⌘Q to close** it.
  2. Press ⌘Q. Save your work if the app asks.
  3. Procession notices the app has closed and shows, for example, Chrome closed. About 2.1 GB came back. The moment is marked on the pressure line.
  4. Changed your mind? Press Reopen.

To stop, press Stop watching on the small panel.

About X came back is what the app itself was using just before it closed. The pressure line shows the real effect over the next minute or two. Why can’t Procession close apps for me?
