Your apps, In the background and macOS at work
Three lists: apps you opened, helpers other apps installed, and macOS itself.
- Your apps: the apps you opened, each as one row with its helpers counted in. A browser with 60 tabs is one row, so you see what the app really uses.
- In the background: helpers other apps installed to run quietly, such as updaters and sync tools. The inspector explains how to switch each one off.
- macOS at work: the parts of macOS that are running, with the ones busy for a reason first. You never need to close these.
- Every process: everything, grouped by app or flat like Activity Monitor, with a filter.
Some rows say private instead of a figure. Why some figures are private.
