What do High, Medium and Review mean?
How sure Cachet is that an item is safe to remove, and the reasons behind it.
Every item Cachet finds gets a confidence label, with the reasons shown under Why it's marked … in the inspector.
- High: the item rebuilds itself when needed, such as a cache or build data. These are ticked for you.
- Medium: usually safe, but something lowers Cachet's confidence. For example, the app that owns it is open right now, or it changed today.
- Review: it won't come back once removed, such as an old installer or an archive. Cachet never ticks these for you.
Each kind of item has a starting level, and what Cachet sees on your Mac can only lower it, never raise it. The reasons you might see:
- Known … location and Comes back by itself (good signs)
- Doesn't come back once removed (Review)
- Changed today (Medium at most)
- … is open right now (Medium at most)
- … is installed or … is no longer installed
You can tick or untick anything. Your choices are kept when Cachet scans again.
